It wasn’t like him to like a human, in any way, shape, or form the Olo’eyktan knew. Tsu’tey was a proud young male, sometimes prone to grudges, but more often than not on a fairly well-balanced keel. His expressions could be impassive when not in depth of discussion or another activity--and sometimes even despite those things--but if you’d been around him long enough, Tsu’tey was almost easy to read. And nothing about him had let on that he didn’t still hold a deep and abiding dislike for the humans who had invaded his planet, his home, his clan, and yet presumed themselves better than his people. So it came as something of a surprise when he only mentioned once, quietly, that he had found one of the Marines (carefully not saying that said Marine wasn’t at Hell’s Gate) to be more or less palatable.

It had been during a lull of downtime, when Eytukan’s successor had been at his loom, warping it peaceably, and he hadn’t immediately thought much of the two clean leaders--both nearby--blinking at him as if he’d just grown a second tail. The more Tsu’tey thought on the subject of letting Adrian see Pandora, and perhaps the Hometree, the more surprisingly okay he was with the idea; he’d still ask, but only when he found the words to bring it up; they didn’t take long after the conversation with Shephard about the Marine he’d hallucinated a talk with. The idea of hearing Neytiri’s great-great-grandfather speak about being Toruk Makto had taken root in his head, and much as he didn’t suppose you could ask for who to talk to that one night a year in Milliways, it would be illuminating if he could...

It was only perhaps a week later in his world that he brought the subject up again, over food. “I would like him to see our home,” he explained, when met again by the surprised stare. “He is a good hunter, a sensible man. Very rare among the humans, but he is interesting.” It didn’t take much argument to get an agreement that so long as he was not left alone, the visit could be done; the idea that Tsu’tey found him any kind of possible candidate was more than half the proof needed.

Now he just had to find a portal, and get Adrian back through it. And hopefully not get locked out...
